Ticket back home
Yes! I bought the ticket to go home this Christmas! Finally!
It’s amazing how airlines would take advantage of you during winter seasons… With only two major options to go to Colombia from Pittsburgh, things have been quite annoying.
Delta has flights that go through New York and Atlanta… But apparently many people go to NYC from Colombia… and Delta is the only airline that offers service to Atlanta from Colombia.
What does that mean? High Price.
Continental has flights that go through New York and Houston. But apprently many people go to NYC from Colombia (as mentioned above) and Continental is the only airline that offers service to Houston from Colombia.
What does that mean? High Price.
The cheapest ticket that I found was American Airlines, but it required two stops and 18 hour transit time in Miami. WTF. And this crap schedule cost around $900. WTF.
Continental’s cheapest ticket was a price around $1000, with two stops in Houston and Panama City. Total duration of the trip? Somewhere around 28 hours or way too short for any customs time.
Oh! did I mention that I’m finally an elite member in Continental? I joined it only a year ago and I’m a silver elite member already! yay! So I decided to use continental, but the price is waaaaaaaaaay too high. The highest, in fact. I’ll just start adding mileage to my newly made Delta account now.
Oh yeah! I have another 50000 miles in Korean Air… only that I don’t go to Korea anymore… arrrgh… Can’t I move all those miles to Delta? They’re both in Skyteam… Speaking of which, why did Continental have to go to Star Alliance?! Whatevz… I’m just doing the whole entire thing over again in Delta now…
So my last option was to go with Delta where the cheapest ticket was around $900 but picked the one stop itinerary which cost $1150. I’m flying through New York on the way down and flying through Atlanta on the way up.
….
……..
…………$1150 for a ticket to BOGOTA from PITTSBURGH?!
When Ji came to visit in May she paid $350 to come to Bogota from JFK…
Anyway… Airlines can go die for taking advantage of people going back home to see their families during the holidays.
